Carrying on his passion to create equal opportunity at success in sport and life, the Chad Staley Memorial Athletic Foundation (CSMAF) will work with sponsors and partners to offer a plethora of Athletic Youth Grants and Balanced Life supports. These grants and programs will provide intermediate and ongoing support for youth that find these opportunities out of their reach and inaccessible for a variety of reasons.

The year before Chad died, he talked about his career aspirations once hockey ended for and told his mom, Jennifer, he wanted to go back to college to become a teacher. His plans to open a hockey school in Kennewick this past summer died with him.
“He was actually working on his logo and an agenda for working with the little guys and was talking to us about it just nights before he passed away,” Jennifer said. “He just has a good heart and I’m so proud of the man he became. He could have been a sportscaster. He knew about every player on every team in every sport. He constantly had ESPN on and his knowledge blew me away.”
Carrying on a passion for an equal opportunity at success in sport and life, Chad Staley Memorial will be working with sponsors and partners to offer a plethora of Athletic Youth Grants. The hope for these grants and programs is to provide intermediate and ongoing support for youth that find these opportunities out of their reach.
Proudly sponsored by Ascentech Solutions Inc, the Chad Staley Memorial Foundation has had the opportunity to name an arena and facility built, maintained and run by Northern Ice Sports.
Sponsorship provided to CSM by MicroAge Prince George in order to cover all PGSK youth camp jersey costs.
The next initiative we look to pursue is providing financial, developmental and community support to youth looking to join minor hockey. We’ll be relying on a number of individual and corporate sponsorships to provide ongoing support for each athlete accepted into the program.
We miss Chad and wish we could be watching him achieve his goals from the sidelines – they are goals we are proud to pursue and bring to fruition on his behalf. With this in mind, we couldn’t be happier to announce that today, on March 9th of 2021, we’ve officially unveiled the Chad Staley Memorial Arena beside one of Chad’s favourite landmarks, Mr. PG.
Once again we couldn’t be more grateful for the community support and can’t thank Bragg Construction and Westcana Electric enough for the beautiful new signs! This is the first step on this exciting journey – thanks, everyone!

Over the next few years, CSM hopes to build a community of like-minded people to help achieve equality amongst athletics. Chad embodied the ‘Everyone deserves to play’ mentality and was always one of the first to encourage the person next to him. This is one of the many aspects of his character that we hope to see live on forever through the Chad Staley Memorial Foundation.
