Grant Application

Who can apply

This grant is open to individual athletes and local sport organizations who:

  • Live in Canada
  • Are committed to personal growth through sport
  • Have financial need or face barriers to participation
  • Ages up to 24
  • Applicants can be involved in any sport and at any level of development

grants may cover

  • Coaching and training fees
  • Equipment and uniforms
  • Competition travel and entry costs
  • Academic tutoring and learning resources
  • Counselling, therapy, or mental performance services
  • Leadership and life-skills programs

Grant Cycle

  • Applications Open: April 15
  • Applications Close: May 15
  • All applicants will be notified of results by Jun 30 or sooner

Grant Amounts

  • Individual athletes: $250 – $2,000
  • Local sport organizations: Up to $5,000

Grant sizes are based on financial need, impact of the request, and available funds. Please note we cannot cover retroactive costs (costs already paid), living expenses (e.g., rent, groceries), alcohol, social events, or non-sport travel.

Step two:

Share a short personal statement about who you are, your goals, and how funding will help

Step three:

Provide a letter of support from a coach, teacher, mentor, or guardian (required for individuals)

how funds are distributed

Grant funding will be distributed through a designated registered charity. If your application is successful, payment will be issued directly to service providers (such as training facilities, multi-sport organizations, schools, or therapists), or as appropriate based on the approved request. In some cases, funds may be administered on your behalf by a trusted organization or guardian.

AFTER YOU RECEIVE A GRANT

If you’re awarded funding, we ask that you:

  • Submit a short follow-up within 3 months (a paragraph, video, or photo update)
  • Share your story so we can celebrate your journey and inspire others (with your permission)
